Project Description:
Our goal for this project was to create a hand warmer by using salt and water to create heat energy in a reaction. This reaction had to be activated on cue -- through popping a bag or in our case 'snapping' some sort of flexible metal. It must be of little cost in order to sell for a reasonable price while maintaining a profit. We chose a unique design and used Sodium Acetate and water as our mixture. The description of our design of choice is outlined in the Google Slides below.

Reflection:
I overall I enjoyed this project. I thought it was interesting and I liked how it incorporated the rest of the school. Knowing we were designing a hand warmer to be sold to the rest of San Marin added a fun and motivating element. I think we were given a good amount of time to work on this considering many groups changed ideas (for example: ours) and having extra time to tweak and perfect the prototype was appreciated. At the end I believed we could have used even more time though that would have been excessive so it was good where we left off. I definitely enjoyed the competition, I thought that was amusing new factor.
Our group was able to step outside the box for this project and create something unique which was something we did well. We were also very determined to perfect the design and all contributed ideas. However our group did not work well together, myself along with a few other group members felt as though at times we were not allowed to work on the project which was aggravating and insulting. It's bound to happen at times when you are given a not so perfect group, we learned to roll with the punches and acquired new techniques to calm ourselves when we become annoyed.
